The elephant festival

The elephant festival is held on the day of Holi festival, usually in the month of March in India. The festival features Elephant polo and Elephant Dance. The festival begins with a beautiful procession of decorated elephants, camels, horses and folk dancers. Elephants are decorated with vibrant colors, saddle, and jewellery for the festival and the owner of the most beautifully decorated elephant is awarded.
Elephants symbolize royalty according to the Indian traditions and are associated with Buddha and Jainism. Elephants are considered sacred and precious animals in India.
