The economy of Afghanistan is dependent on billions of dollars in international assistance and investments. Afghanistan holds up to $3 trillion in proven untapped mineral deposits, which could make it one of the richest mining regions on earth. However, due to the conflicts, it remains one of the least developed countries in the world. Unemployment rate is very high in Afghanistan, and a big part of population live under poverty line.
Due to the security problems, unfortunately Afghanistan is not a popular tourist destination.
