Fun book recommendation of the day
A Confederacy of Dunces, written by John Kennedy Toole is a winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize. The book is about the misadventures of a thirty something year old who lives with his mother in 1960s New Orleans and has a hard time to find a job. The book is filled with satirical humor concerning the usually overlooked characters in the society and captures realities of the society that are usually disregarded.
The main character of in the novel, Ignatius J. Reilly, lives with his mother in New Orleans. He writes comparative history screeches and likes to talk to anyone who will listen to the traumatic experience he once had on a Greyhound Scenicruiser bound for Baton Rouge. But his life comes to a halt when he is almost arrested by a Patrolman who mistakes him for a vagrant and later when he was in a car accident with his mother behind the wheel. One thing leads to another, and before he knows it, he is out pounding the pavement in search of a job.
